Cool Web Search Removal:
This software will detect and remove the notorious Cool Web Search (CWS). CWS is a nasty piece of spyware that is installed on your computer without your knowledge. It hijacks your web browser homepage, causes Windows to run very slowly with random crashes, prevents you from going to certain websites such as Google, and prevents you from running anti-spyware software such as Ad-aware. The amount of information about CWS is too great to list here, try Googleing "Cool Web Search".
TrendMicro provides a removal tool, cwshredder, which can be downloaded here:Click the above link, then "Run" to run cwshredder. If, after download, a message appears saying "The Publisher Cannot Be Verified", just run the program.
In cwshredder, choose "Fix" to automatically scan for, and fix, Cool Web Search.
ZoneAlarm:
The best firewall available, in my opinion, from ZoneLabs. If you purchased a computer from ABELtronics, ZoneAlarm will already be installed on your machine. The ZoneAlarm installation persistently tries to get you to pay for it. Always ensure you select "Free ZoneAlarm" throughout the installation.
WinZip:
This software allows you to open those elusive "Zip" files. Zip files are single files that can contain multiple files within them. WinZip also compresses these files so the size of the zip file is less than the total of all the files within it.
